Employability Fund stage 2 and 3 with ENABLE Works
ENABLE Works Edinburgh is open for new Employability Fund referrals.
The aim of the programme is to ensure learners will gain useful employability skills.
This will be achieved by developing the core and basic skills required to make a successful transition, whilst being supported to address the barriers that they face in gaining sustainable employment, moving to other forms of training or entering Further Education.
Communication, interpersonal and team building skills will play a large part in the individual’s development. They will also investigate the world of work and be supported to make realistic career choices and goals.
For 10 weeks, learners will be supported remotely through Zoom. Remote delivery will be two days a week with learning being two and a half hours a day over ten weeks. On top of this, clients will be provided with home working tasks to work on after each session.
The work and skills they will be learning will be transferable and will not necessarily be sector specific. It is aimed at supporting individuals and is person centred to each learner. Every learner will be provided with a learning pack which will be sent to their home address. This pack will contain several useful tools such as mind maps and stationary for the clients to use when sitting on the remote call.

Learners will be shown and supported to:
- Create a CV
- Practice mock interviews
- Understand the world of work
- Learn about personal presentation and how best to communicate effectively.
During the programme learners will also be supported on the different sectors available for employment. This may include working within: Retail, Administration, Horticulture, Hospitality or other areas of employment they identify.
If lockdown criteria permits, from September we will look at introducing work place visits to employers. These will be done in accordance with government guidelines at that time. Clients will be supported remotely on what travelling independent will look like and if guidance permits in September, we may resume practical travel training with the robust procedures, social distancing and PPE such as hand sanitiser and face masks made available for staff and learners.
All learners will also be supported to achieve their Level 3 (for stage 2) and Level 4 (for stage 3) SQA Personal Development Award.
