Bright Lights; Starting out in customer service - Summer 2019 Graduation
On Friday 30th August we celebrated the success of 11 individuals finishing the Summer 2019 Bright Lights employability course ‘starting out in customer service’.
In the last few years, Fort Kinnaird Recruitment Skills Centre introduced the ‘Bright Lights’ series of training programmes. This celebration was for a new Pilot course in that brand – ‘Starting Out in Customer Service’ It was aimed at individuals from Edinburgh, East and Mid Lothian and the initiative equips those selected with the skills and confidence they need for future employment.
The course included skills-based training and valuable practical experience, which will be used as a stepping-stone to sustainable employment.
With 12 individuals starting at the end of July 11 were presented with their certificates for completing the course, the 12th individual secured employment halfway through the course.
Work experience placements were offered by Curry’s/PC World, The Range, Smyths, B&M, B&Q and The Odeon and to date, there has already been 5 job offers made to the trainees with interviews being taken place over the next week for the others. For those that don’t secure a contract with their placement employer, the RSC team will work closely with them to match opportunities through the annual seasonal recruitment campaign which is due to start next week.
Congratulations to all involved!
The next course begins in September and due to popular demand, the referrals have now closed for this next intake.
