VTF for Drivers - training for jobs at Lothian Buses and/or B-Spokes delivery

Capital City Partnership’s Vocational Training Framework is open for referrals for a 2-week vocational course for drivers.

The course offers:

  • Employability & customer service skills training
  • First Aid and IOSH H&S certificates
  • Employers visits
  • Guaranteed interviews with Lothian Buses and/or B-Spokes (including opportunity to gain a PCV Bus Driver license)

It’s an excellent opportunity for successful participants to start employment in the role of a bus or a delivery driver, with a well-known, respectful employer!

The course will start on the 25th of October and it will include certified training delivered in Edinburgh (city centre) by Forth Valley College including:

  • IOSH Health & Safety
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Customer Service
  • Disability Awareness
  • Highway Code refresher.

There will also be:

  • A visit to Lothian Buses and B-Spokes depot to discuss vacancies and specific employer requirements
  • Insight session from Transport and Logistic professionals
  • 1:1 employability advice
  • CV building and interview technique support
  • Guaranteed interview with recruiting employer!

All participants are required to attend 6 days of the training from 9:30am until 4:30pm plus individual time slots allocated on days 7 and/or 8 with mandatory interviews on days 9 and/or 10.

The course is open for 18 plus candidates with cat B driving license (with no more than 6 points on it) held for a min of 1 year.
