School Catering Vacancies - The City of Edinburgh Council

Who we are?

Edinburgh Catering Services operate across 100 schools and various commercial buildings including the capital’s prestigious City Chambers. You could join the 600 staff we have across Edinburgh delivering over 20,000 meals daily to schools, nurseries, lunch clubs and office buildings, making us the largest catering operation in the capital.

Every one of our employees contributes to the success of our organisation and most importantly the health of over 20,000 pupils daily. We are an award-winning service and are very proud to deliver high-quality catering services.

What we do?

In over 100 schools, all our meals are produced from scratch every day, using local producers and fresh produce. Our teams of highly trained cooks, catering assistants and managers work to contribute to the good health of the next generation. Our cooks within schools must be highly adaptable with the ability to deliver special diets, accommodate food intolerances and work to nutritional regulations and guidance

Our High School Business has been transformed over the last 5 years, with services evolving to provide students with an innovative high street food offer. We regularly review trends on the high street and incorporate this into our services. We nurture strong relationships with student voices.

In our commercial buildings, we cater for staff, councillors, and politicians as well as visiting VIPs to the city. We can cater for events up to 500 including events for celebrities and local dignitaries.

Why the council?

Over 90% of our colleagues think our catering service is a great place to work. We offer great perks such as:
