Access To Mechanics

The course aims to help young people to expand their knowledge and skill sets within Mechanics, gain real practical experience, and build lasting relationships with employers.

Students on the course will be supported by a dedicated Access To Industry Caseworker throughout, who will then continue to support them with progressing into positive destinations within their chosen field once the course is completed.

What are the outcomes?

Students will achieve a City and Guilds SCQF Level 4 Award in ‘Introduction to Vehicle Systems Maintenance’

Students will also achieve an ‘Adult Achievement Award

There is also the potential for students to progress onto an apprenticeship or a work placement in a garage or auto-trader.

The course will be delivered over a four-week period on a two day per week basis. These days will be on a Monday and Tuesday, the dates are as follows:

5th and 6th February

12th and 13th February

19th and 20th February

26th and 27th February

The course will be delivered at GTG’s purpose-built training facility at Ratho Station.
