The Welcoming Association - Employment Support (The Welcoming Association)
The Welcoming Association’s Employment Support team offer one-to-one appointments and courses to advise on employment, education, and training opportunities in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas for New Scots.
- Bridges to Success: an 8-week employability course for New Scots parents from all ethnic backgrounds.
- Skills, Training, Employability Progressions [STEP] project includes a 2-day ESOL at Edinburgh College registration event, basic digital skills courses and cover letter writing workshops for New Scots
- Tailored 1:1 employability support for New Scots (refugees, people seeking asylum, migrants).
- Targeted Workshops for New Scots on rights, employment, housing and civic engagement.
One-to-one appointments, and workshops, are held at The Welcoming office or online via Microsoft Teams.
Our Bridges to Success Employability course for New Scots parents takes place across the city of Edinburgh at various locations, in all four Edinburgh localities. The STEP project makes use of various venues across the city alongside our premises in Gorgie.
