Vocational Training Framework

The new Vocational Training Framework (VTF) has been developed as a response to the No One Left Behind (NOLB) Phase 2 allocation from the Scottish Government.

VTF provides employability and vocational training to complement current stage 3, 4 and 5 employability and skills support across Edinburgh. Other localities are welcome to buy into the framework ad hoc (by purchasing tailored training or add own referrals to existing opportunities).

VTF offers upskilling and progression opportunities for all working age individuals (16 plus), both those seeking employment and those in employment but facing insecure work or in-work poverty.

As recommended by the NOLB2 allocation report, VTF will support job seekers into jobs within growing sectors and those sectors which are (or are expected to) face skills shortages. We partnered with experienced training providers to offer vocational training in the following areas:

  • Hospitality
  • Retail
  • Health & Social Care
  • Early Learning & Childcare
  • Construction
  • Warehouse and Logistics
  • IT & Creative
  • Business & Finance

Each course also involves 1:1 guided job search activities, interview preparation and guaranteed interviews with recruiting employers.

The VTF has been procured to offer a catalogue of training support that can be drawn from as demand requires and which can respond quickly, rapidly, and flexibly to economic opportunities. CCP has contracted 12 training providers who are able to provide ad-hoc training within 4 to 6 weeks from the moment we reach 10 referrals per lot (training).
